Easy Strawberry Blueberry Compote

This strawberry blueberry compote is an easy way to enjoy your fruits in season cooked in its own juice and some spices you will spooning this delicious TREAT on to any thing hot or cold.

  • 350 g 1 3/4 cup strawberries quartered
  • 100 g about 1 cup blueberries
  • 1/3 cup sweetener of choice I used xylitol*
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon optional
  • 1/4 cup of water


  • Put strawberries, blueberries and sweetener in a sauce pan and begin cook.
  • When the mixture begins to bubble, add the 1/4 cup of water and reduce the heat to low.
  • Allow to simmer until the fruits softens. Mash the fruit with a fork or potato masher.
  • When the compote thickens to your liking, turn off heat, Sprinkle cinnamon if using and allow to cool
  • Transfer to a clean jar and store in the refrigerator for a week.


* if you have dogs, be careful with xylitol as it harmful to dogs
