A low carb sugar free powdered sugar is a very important staple in the low carb kitchen. Because Most low carb sweeteners don't dissolve easily, some low carb recipes require the powdered form of low carb sweeteners which cost a little more than the un-powdered/ granular versions.
So if you already have some sugar substitute at home then you are just 2 mins or less away from getting your own homemade sugar free powdered sugar.
Here is why you should be making your own homemade sugar free powdered sugar.
- It is cheaper to make yours
- You get the best of two worlds for the cost of one. ( You can blend half of the bag and leave the other half unblended.)
- You can make your own sweetener blend like a mix of stevia and erythritol.
- Just because you can.
What can I use this Homemade Sugar free confectioners sugar for?

This homemade sugar free powdered sugar stores well so you can make a large batch if want and store in an air tight container in a cool dry place. Now if you really don't want to make yours swerve is a good one to use. I used swerve powered sweetener a lot before buying my coffee grinder. A nutri bullet works well too.

I use a Monkfruit-eyrithinol blend.when I make as a glaze or frosting it tends to crystallize when put on the item. I’ve tried adding some tapioca starch but it does the same thing. Any suggestions?
Chichi Uguru
Hi Debbie,
Erythritol and monk-fruit sweeteners both individually and as a combo tend to crystal on cooling. Allulose doesn’t do that. Your best bet without Allulose or a combination of Allulose and monk-fruit.
Feel free to reach out if you have more questions.
Allison
Hello, have you tried making powdered sugar with stevia? I'm looking to make a natural sugar free buttercream. It needs to hold up well for piping and smoothing when additional liquid is added. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Chichi Uguru
Hi Allison!
I am terribly sorry for this late response. I must have missed your comment. This recipe works well for all granular sweeteners.
I usually use Erythritol-monkfruit blend to make my keto buttercream. However I don’t see any reason why stevia wouldn’t hold up. Hope this helps.

Woah, people. I am a brand new, new bee at this, I don't understand even the recipe. are you saying just take 2 cups of allulose or any sugar sub, and just put it in my Nutra bullet and turn it on? for how long? 5 min 1 min ?? and then to make ice cream just follow the recipe and add that with the cream and milk and salt? and how do I make buttercream frosting? or cheesecakes out of this. I have 6 or 8 people that are severe diabetics. and these are the 3 things they miss the most. but I have never even tasted recipes doing this and sooo want to help them. but I don't know how can you help me, and will you notify us at our emails when you put this up. because I just googled you and will never be able to find you if you don't. I don't do a lot on the computer. just a few things.

Hi! I made some buttercream frosting with 5 cups of allulose. It was SO sweet and grainy. Before I made the frosting, I put the allulose in a food processor and pulsed it 5 times. Did I not do it long enough? Also, it feels like 5 cups was way too sweet for me.
Chichi Uguru
Hi Cynthia,
It should be in powder form just like regular powdered sugar after blending. If it’s not as smooth, keep blending till you achieve the powdered consistency. Then sift before using.
On the sweetness of Allulose. It’s supposed to be 70% as sweet as sugar. So it shouldn’t be overwhelmingly sweet. What Ratio of butter to sweetener did you use. You can cut the Allulose down to 4 cups. Hope this helps.

For years I have been using Truvia bakers blend, it is blended with sugar and apparently erythritol. Which is one of the baddies. Allulose is the only thing I have found that has only one ingredient Allulose. I am looking forward to trying this glaze.
Chichi Uguru
Hey Andrea!
Allulose should work too. Keep us posted. Thanks for stopping by.

Unless I unintentionally missed it, I read through everything said here but didn't see how much is considered to be a serving. Would you share that information, please? Thanks!
Chichi Uguru
Hi KG,
It's a total of 48 servings in 2 cups amounts to 2 teaspoons per serving. You can always adjust to suite your taste. Thank you 😊
