This garlic butter salmon recipe is made with a simple air fryer salmon marinade of old bay seasoning, garlic powder and oil and cooked before topping the fish with garlic herb butter.

I usually cook fresh salmon at 400°F (200°C) for 10 to 12 mins and frozen salmon for 12 to 15 mins. The most important thing is that the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C)
How to make air fryer garlic butter salmon

Lightly brush oil on one side of the salmon. Season the salmon with garlic and old bay seasoning. Flip and repeat process on the other side. You can cover let it marinate for 15 mins if you like before proceeding to the next step.
Place salmon in air fryer basket, air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 10 to 12 mins or until internal temperature is 145°F (63°C)
Top with garlic butter and serve.
What to serve with salmon
Salmon can be served with a variety of sides that even non low carb eaters will enjoy. You can also swap out the garlic butter for herb butter before serving with some of our faves shared below.

How to store and reheat
Store cooked air fried salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days.
You can reheat salmon in the air fryer or microwave. To reheat in the microwave place in a microwave safe plate and microwave at 30 seconds intervals until warmed through.
Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (180°) for 3 to 5 mins or until warmed through.
Tips
- Don't overcrowd - Cook fillets in a single layer so air circulates evenly for crisping.

- Use a meat thermometer to check 145°F internal temperature for doneness.
- Adjust cook times for thickness of fillets and air fryer model.

You may have to cook less salmon at one time in a smaller appliance, but cook times should be about the same. Watch closely as sizes vary.
While I personally prefer to flip, flipping is not absolutely necessary! The circulating hot air crisps and cooks the salmon fillets fairly evenly on all sides.
It doesn’t need to be fully thawed. You can also cook from frozen. The only thing is that you will need to add more time.
Asparagus, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower and brussels sprouts all make great veggie sides to serve.

Air fryer garlic butter salmon
Ingredients
- 3 fillets Salmon
- 1 tablespoon old bay seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 garlic cloves (crushed)
- 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Brush salmon fillets with oil on both sides.
- Mix the spice blend then sprinkle the blend on both sides of each salmon fillet.
- Place seasoned salmon in the air fryer basket and air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 10 to 12 mins or until internal temperature reaches 145°F (if the salmon is frozen you will cook for 12 to 15 mins)
- Mix the butter, crushed garlic cloves and parsley flakes) top each fillet with the garlic butter. Then serve.
